Running cost = the model's rated annual energy use (kWh/year, from its ENERGY STAR certification) × the average residential electricity price (EIA Electric Power Monthly, Table 5.6.A, July 2026). Rated energy use assumes standard test conditions; your real cost depends on how many hours you run it, its settings and your climate. Size classes group models of similar capacity so comparisons are like-for-like.
